EURO STOXX 50 (STOXX50E) Index Highlights

The Dow Jones EuroStoxx 50 was introduced in February 1998 and calculated back to the year 1986. The index consists of the 50 largest publicly traded companies from the countries of the Eurozone, reflecting their performance. It is considered an indicator of the European stock market's development. The weighting of companies in the index is based on the market capitalization of freely tradable shares. The DJ EuroStoxx 50 is calculated both as a price index, where dividend payments are not considered, and as a performance index. Here, we display the corresponding price index of the Dow Jones EuroStoxx 50. Stoxx Ltd., a joint venture of Deutsche Börse AG, Dow Jones & Company, and the Swiss Stock Exchange SWX Group, is responsible for the inclusion of new constituents and the index's updates. In addition to the EuroStoxx 50, the Stoxx 50 is considered another major European stock market indicator. It comprises 50 leading companies from across Europe, including non-euro countries such as Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
